What is NeoGraft?

NeoGraft is a safe and effective hair restoration system that creates a full head of natural-looking hair. It can also be used to camouflage a linear scar on the scalp from a previous hair harvest, or to transplant body hair.

How does NeoGraft work?

Using NeoGraft’s automated follicular unit extraction (FUE) technique, Dr. McCracken removes small clusters of individual hair follicles from hair-bearing scalp and transplants them to balding or thinning areas.

Will my results look natural?

Yes. Dr. McCracken carefully considers every patient’s unique facial structure and hairline when transplanting hair follicles, to ensure the results look natural.

What happens during a NeoGraft procedure?

First, hair follicles are removed from the hair-bearing donor area, usually at the back of the scalp. Controlled pneumatic pressure is used to gently slide out the graft, preventing damage from pulling or twisting the hairs. The hairs are modified to the same diameter and length. The transplant site is carefully planned out, and the exact angle of growth, direction and orientation of the hairs is determined. Finally, the hair follicles are separated and transplanted to the balding or thinning area.

How long does the treatment process last?

Depending on the number of grafts needed, the procedure can last three to eight hours.

Does NeoGraft hurt?

NeoGraft is not a painful procedure. The donor and recipient sites are numbed so patients don’t feel any pain. Most patients are able to watch television or even nap while treatment takes place.

When will I see results?

Hair growth after NeoGraft differs by patient. Usually, full results can be seen at approximately one year after the procedure.

What are the risks of NeoGraft treatment?

The follicular unit extraction method is minimally invasive and therefore less risky than other hair transplant methods. The risks of NeoGraft are similar to that of other surgical procedures and include allergic reactions to anesthesia, bleeding and infection.

How much does NeoGraft cost?

The cost of NeoGraft depends on the specific course of treatment, particularly the number of grafts needed. Pricing will be discussed at your consultation with Dr. McCracken.

Does insurance cover NeoGraft?

No. Health insurance typically does not cover NeoGraft. However, our practice offers financing for NeoGraft treatments.

I’m a woman struggling with balding and/or thinning hair. Can I have NeoGraft?

Yes. NeoGraft can be performed on both men and women.

Am I a good candidate for NeoGraft?
